Instructions
Use the form below to add (subscribe) or remove (unsubscribe) from the OTM list. Chose the appropriate action (subscribe or unsubscribe), enter your email address, and choose how you would like to receive messages - feed or digest mode.
Feed mode means that each message posted to the list gets sent out to you immediately (there may be a minute or two delay before you see your message returned to you). This method is good if you frequently participate, or enjoy reading through lots of individual messages.
Digest mode means that the list of the days activities gets compiled into a single message, in chronological order by when they were received. The digests get generated at a particular time of day - currently set at 8pm Central Standard Time (this can be changed in the future, based on user feedback). Digest mode is good for those who like to read through the messages at a later date, and aren't actively involved in the discussions. One of the main problems with digest mode is that postings to the list in HTML (as opposed to plain text) can look messy and be hard to read once it's pulled together in the digest. It is HIGHLY encouraged for people to send all messages to the list in plain text mode, but no one's even reading this, right?
Either method allows for posting of messages, just those subscribed in digest mode will see the message and any answers at a later time.
Once your request is submitted, you will see a different page telling you to check your email - you will receive 2 emails from the list, 1 verifying that you did request something, and the other including directions on what to do to validate the request. What is best is to reply to the message with instructions, making sure the instructions are still in the body of the reply - this will ensure that you properly subscribe. This verification ensures that people can't subscribe and unsubscribe others without access to their email accounts. Note: if your email client is set to send messages as HTML and not plain text, you will not be able to verify your subscription; if you can not change this, please contact me for help.
Please note that if you wish to be subscribed in BOTH feed and digest mode, you will need to use 2 different email addresses; sorry, that's just the way the server works.
